The HEART Initiative
Bozeman, Montana
I am a rising junior at Montana State University in Bozeman and am majoring in political science, economics, and sociology with an emphasis on human rights, specifically women’s rights and human trafficking.

I am currently conducting grant-funded research examining the impact of state and federal anti-human trafficking legislation on the identification and prosecution of trafficking cases. I am interested in learning more about trafficking in supply chains and different methods employed to combat it.

I am President of The HEART Initiative, which is a student organization that works to raise awareness and combat trafficking in Montana and beyond. This year, we began working with local service providers, law enforcement, businesses, and community members to form the Gallatin County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force. This task force will proactively respond to trafficking through education and awareness, as well as ensure uniform, survivor-centered responses to cases when they arise. I look forward to learning more about trafficking and acting on the knowledge I gain to strengthen efforts against trafficking.
