This workshop will equip agencies, allies and service providers with a greater understanding of how to effectively serve victims of human trafficking. It will incorporate a culturally appropriate, victim-centered and trauma-informed approach. It will also provide context and framework around the importance of including survivors in anti-trafficking efforts.The discussion will include an understanding of “the Life” as a subculture, stages of change, effects of trauma, and some Do’s and Don'ts of advocacy. There will also be a focus on ways to strengthen collaboration between survivors leaders and allied professionals to enhance an effective response to commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
