With the knowledge that strangulation is a method sometimes used by traffickers to maintain power and control over their victims, this presentation is intended to be a detailed overview primarily geared toward law enforcement officers and prosecutors covering what strangulation is and why it should be investigated and prosecuted as the serious assault offense that it is.  The class covers highlights of the groundbreaking San Diego Strangulation Study, signs and symptoms of strangulation, potential ongoing dangers to victims of strangulation and ways that LE can help make a case that will assist prosecutors with the adjudication of these types of cases.
