Doris O’Neal is the Director of Gender Base Violence Specialized Services, YWCA (Seattle King / County). She has been employed with the YWCA for 13 years. She has worked in the Domestic Violence Prevention and advocacy field for over 20 + years and uses her platform to advocate for African American survivors and those furthest from opportunity In her former role. She worked for the King County Prosecutor’s Office for 16 years in the civil and criminal division, and 6 years as a DV court victim advocate. In her current position as GBV Director, she manages a DV shelter and community advocacy programs, Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CSE) program. She has developed and implemented the Survivor’s First Programming Partnership with the King County Prosecutor’s office that provides supportive services for adult survivors that have been involved in the criminal justice system. She is a partner on the CEASE Task Force team, King County Collaborative of South King County, which is another of her passions: working with survivors in human trafficking. She’s a former board member of the Coalition Against Gender Based Violence. She loves spending time with her four grandchildren and family and gardening.
